You'll need the full street address, ZIP code and a phone number for the recipient. Don't skip the phone number. Alcohol deliveries need a signature, and it's how the carrier arranges a second attempt if nobody's home the first time.

Watch the dates. American Mother's Day is in May, not March like ours, and Father's Day falls in June. It catches a lot of UK senders out. Check the US date before you order.

We ship to eligible addresses nationwide, including California, New York, Florida, Texas, Virginia, Maryland and Washington, DC. Alcohol delivery is regulated state by state, so we confirm the address is eligible at checkout as soon as you enter the ZIP code. No guessing, and no charge if we can't deliver there.
Standard delivery runs 2 to 5 business days from dispatch. Same-day and next-day are available in selected metro areas. One thing UK customers often miss: the US is 5 to 8 hours behind, so anything ordered after 7:00 pm UK time is processed the next US business day. We deliver Monday to Friday, and not on weekends or US public holidays.
A handful of states don't allow direct-to-consumer wine shipments at all. Right now that's Utah, Mississippi and Delaware. We also can't ship to PO Boxes or APO/FPO military addresses. Enter the ZIP code before you pay and you'll know straight away.
Someone aged 21 or over, with photo ID if the driver asks. That's federal and state law, not our policy, and there's no way around it: alcohol can't be left on a doorstep or with a neighbor under 21. If nobody's available, the carrier will try again up to 2 times / leave a card to rearrange. For weekday deliveries, a workplace address is usually the safer bet.
Most people assume they can just post a bottle. In practice you can't: Royal Mail bans alcohol from international mail outright, and the couriers that do carry it will only accept shipments from licensed businesses. Even if a parcel gets through, your recipient can be left settling a customs bill for a present they didn't ask for. Buying from a licensed US retailer sidesteps all of it, because the wine never leaves the country it's delivered in.

Prices are shown and charged in US dollars. UK-issued Visa, Mastercard and American Express cards work fine, and [PayPal is available at checkout]. Your bank does the conversion at whatever rate applies that day, and most add a non-sterling transaction fee. A fee-free travel card or multi-currency account avoids that, if you have one. We don't add a surcharge for foreign cards, and there's no UK VAT on the order, because the sale happens in the United States.

Sending it yourself, generally no. Royal Mail prohibits alcohol in international mail and couriers restrict alcohol to licensed shippers, so a private parcel is likely to be refused or held. Ordering through a licensed US retailer is a different thing entirely and perfectly legal: the wine is sold and delivered inside the United States under federal and state law. Yes. The carrier leaves the gift box at reception, which is usually the easiest way to get an alcohol delivery signed for, since there's someone at the desk. Whoever signs still has to be 21 or over. Give us the recipient's full name along with the room number, ward, department or company name so reception knows who to pass it to, and add a phone number if you have one. A few venues have their own rules about accepting alcohol on a guest's behalf, so it's worth a quick check with them first if the gift is time-sensitive.
